It is a very useful tool that allows narrowing down products search area with the filters, by which you can select specific parameters, characteristic for a given product. To use this function, you need to tick searched value of the specific parameter.
Selection of a given parameter value will result in limiting down the search area to the products that meet this criterion. It is possible to tick a few values at a time regarding one parameter. Selection of a specific value for the selected parameter causes updating the possible values to select in other parameters.
The values that do not meet any criteria are greyed and placed at the end of the list.
While the parameters are being specified, the product list is empty.
To check which components meet the selected condition, you need to click the “use filter” button. Then all the products with the searched properties will be displayed on the screen. A given parameter limitations can be freely modified by removing the previously used filter or by ticking off of the selected value.
A given parameter values can be quickly found, by entering a given phrase or value to the search field, situated under the window with the parameter values.
This functionality also offers other conveniences.
In case of numerical parameters you can search the values:
- higher than a given value - entering for example >5
- lower than a given value - entering for example <5
- higher or even - entering for example >=5
- lower or even - entering for example<=5
- and, for example from a given range - entering for example 5-10
(important note - do not put a blank space before, after and between operators)
The parameters system can also interpret correctly basic numerical prefixes of the values, for example - miliamperes - m; kilovolts - k; nanofarads - n. The following records are correctly interpreted (and all the other existing prefixes):
Note. In the parameters’ values search windows do not use basic units (e.g. Amperes - A; volts - V; farads - F etc.)
Use prefixes only when it is helpful.
If you use the search parameter‘s value window and you are interested in the list of articles meeting the ticked values then pushing the enter button is equivalent to clicking the “use filter” key.
Additionally, if you want to see the list of all articles to which any values of a given parameter are assigned, just place the cursor in the empty field of search for this parameter and click the “enter” key.
On the other hand, use the “remove filter” button to tick off all the selected parameter’s values.
If the number of available parameters for a given group or the number of the search result is higher than the one displayed by default, you can add the next ones, using the “add filter” button. Then the screen will display a list with possible parameters to select. Just tick the required parameter and then accept the selection with the “confirm changes” button. Similarly, you can cancel a parameter, by ticking it off in the list, and then accept your selection with the “accept changes” button. Parameters can be also freely turned off, using the “x” by a given window.
If you use the “Add filter” option behind the windows with parameters, you can add additional parameters, by which a process of products’ filtering will take place.
All the parameters for articles form a given group or from the search result are available in the list. It is possible to sort the list by a parameter’s name, by unit or by number of product’s occurrence.
Additionally you can narrow down the search area to the selected producer’s products. The list of available producers is presented in the first parameters window and you can - depending on your needs - select one producer, a few of them or not to select any.
