FPC 3-in-1 series: spectrum analyser, signal generator and vector network analyser

The spectrum analyser includes a built-in signal generator and vector network analyser.

The spectrum analyser in the basic version covers a frequency range from 5 Hz to 1 GHz with the frequency resolution of 1 Hz. The covered range can be upgraded to 2 GHz (FPC-B2 option) or 3 GHz (FPC-B3 option).

The basic version of the FPC spectrum analyser operates with a 1Hz frequency resolution with displayed average noise level (DANL) starting from -150dBm (1×10-18W). An optional preamplifier (FPC-B22) upgrades DANL to -165dBm (3.16×10-20 W). The maximum input signal power is +30dBm (1W), which allows for measurements over a very wide dynamic range.

The vector network analyser (S11) is invaluable when evaluating input/output impedance matching for antenna circuits, transmission cables and other devices such as filters or amplifiers. Measurement results are presented in a Smith chart. It shows how resistive, capacitive and inductive loads behave in the given frequency range. The instrument also features a fault locating function for RF cables or antennas.

The signal generator features a tracking function that enables measurement of the frequency response of filters, RF amplifiers, etc. In a coupled mode, the generator follows the displayed centre frequency, which allows for easy evaluation of the frequency response. The generator can also operate in the standard CW mode, i.e. as a generator of a signal of constant frequency and amplitude.

HMC8015 Rohde & Schwarz power quality analyser: Basic parameters

The HMC8015 power analyser offers comprehensive AC/DC load analysis. High sensitivity allows for analysis of power consumption in a standby mode. The analyser generates a measurement report that is compliant with IEC62301, EN50564 and EN61000-3-2.

The display shows a bar graph of up to 50 harmonics. Another unique feature is the U, I, P, S, Q or F trend chart, which can be user-defined. The screen can simultaneously display up to 10 measurement/calculation results refreshed at 10Hz. The data can be output to a CSV format, which facilitates further analysis using external software.

The analyser functions can be controlled remotely via Ethernet, USB or GPIB (HMC8015-G option). The interface commands are based on the SCPI standard. The analyser is compatible with LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, VXI and IVI.net.

Rohde & Schwarz NGP824COMA arbitrary waveform power supply: Basic parameters

  • 4 outputs with the total output power of 800W. Output voltage up to 64V/channel, current up to 10A (limited to 200W/channel).
  • Voltage generation function with a pre-set shape.
  • Built-in measurement functions. Recording of load parameters.
  • Full galvanic isolation – individual outputs can be connected in parallel or in series to increase the load voltage/current.

Four outputs of the NGP824 arbitrary waveform power supply can deliver up to 64V with a load current up to 10A, output power limitation up to 200W/channel and a total power of up to 800W. The individual outputs are galvanically isolated, which enables them to be connected in series or parallel to achieve voltages up to 250V or current load ratings up to 80A.

Current and voltage can be recorded for further analysis. Intuitive user interface and easy-to-read screen guarantee quick, easy operation and real-time statistics display.

The NGP824 power supply is equipped with USB/Ethernet interfaces as standard. Optional GPIB (IEEE488) , trigger input/output, analogue input/output and Wi-Fi can be installed. The power supply can be controlled remotely to automate measurements.

Rohde & Schwarz HMP4040 programmable power supply: Basic parameters

  • 4 outputs with the total output power of 384W. Output voltage up to 32V/channel, current up to 10A (limited to 160W/channel).
  • Full galvanic isolation – individual power supplies can be connected in parallel or in series to increase the load voltage/current.
  • Electronic over current (OCP), over voltage (OVP) and over temperature (OTP) protection.
  • Standard USB/Ethernet interfaces; optional RS232/USB, Wi-Fi or GPIB (IEEE488).
  • Additional terminals on the rear panel of the power supply, including SEN measurement lines.

The HMP power supply is designed primarily for industrial applications. The 4 galvanically separated outputs with adjustable voltage and load current make the power supply suitable for applications requiring multiple low-noise voltages with numerous protection options. The maximum total output power is 384W. This can be distributed between individual channels – the maximum load capacity is 160W/channel. The outputs can be connected in series or parallel, to increase the maximum output voltage/load current (voltage up to 128V or load current up to 40A).

All channels can be switched on/off simultaneously using the “Output” button. The power supply has built-in protections to increase its reliability and protect the powered device. These include: over current protection (OCP) , over voltage protection (OVP) and over temperature protection (OTP) .

In industrial applications, power supplies are often mounted in 19" racks. Optional HZ42 and HZP91 adapters are offered for this purpose. The power outputs are also available on the rear panel for easy connection. The Rohde & Schwarz HMP power supply can be controlled remotely via USB/Ethernet. RS-232/USB or GPIB (IEEE488) interfaces are available as options.

Rohde & Schwarz NGE-COM3A programmable power supply: Basic parameters

  • 3 outputs with the total output power of 100W. Output voltage up to 32V/channel, current up to 3A (limited to 33.6W/channel).
  • Built-in over current (OCP), over voltage (OVP), over power (OVP) and over temperature (OTP) protection.
  • USB (CDC/TMC) interface, optional Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
  • Can be connected in parallel or in series to increase load capacity or output voltage.
  • Optional 4-bit digital input/output.

The NGE-COM3A power supply features 3 galvanically isolated outputs with a load capacity of up to 3A and a voltage of up to 32V with a power limitation of 33.6W/channel. The outputs can be connected together to increase the voltage to 96V or the current load capacity to 9A. The parameters of all channels are simultaneously presented on an easy-to-read display. A number of protective features such as over current protection and electronic fuse (OCP), over voltage protection (OVP), over power protection (OPP) and over temperature protection (OTP) have been implemented to protect the power supply and the powered device.

In industrial applications, power supplies are often mounted in 19" racks. The NGE-COM3A is available with an optional HZC95 adapter. The Rohde & Schwarz power supply can be controlled remotely via USB or optionally via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

Rohde & Schwarz NGL-COM2A programmable power supply: Basic parameters

  • 2 outputs with the total output power of 120W. Output voltage up to 20V/channel, current up to 6A (limited to 60W/channel).
  • Can operate as source or active load. Operating modes: current source, voltage source, constant resistance (load).
  • Fast response to load change. Low output noise.
  • Readout with a resolution of 6½ digits.
  • Can be connected in parallel or in series to increase load capacity or output voltage.

The NGL-COM2A power supply is a perfect choice for demanding applications. It can operate as a source, simulating battery power, or a fixed resistance, simulating a load. The short response time (<30µs) allows for fast response, which is the case for example in wireless communication devices, when switching from standby to transmission mode. The power supply can deliver up to 60W per channel. The outputs can be connected in series or parallel to increase the voltage or current load capacity.

The measurement resolution is 6½ digits, which makes the NGL-COM2A power supply perfectly suitable for determining the characteristics of devices in the standby mode. The low noise level makes the power supply a helpful tool in designing RF amplifiers and MMIC circuits.

Rohde & Schwarz RTC1000 (RTC1K) MSO oscilloscope

  • Bandwidth: 50MHz, upgradable to 300MHz. Sampling rate up to 2 GSa/s. Memory: 2MSa.
  • Mixed-signal oscilloscope. 8 digital inputs as standard feature.
  • Built-in signal generator: 4-bit resolution, up to 50Mbit/s.
  • 6.5" display with 640×480 px resolution.
  • Multiple measurement functions in one instrument, including: analyser of logic states, communication protocols, signal spectrum, voltmeter, component tester.

High input sensitivity, very low noise, enhanced functionalities, all at a moderate price, are what makes the RTC10000 series oscilloscopes unique. They are indispensable, for example, for an embedded device designer, maintenance technician or in education. Already the basic options offered by the oscilloscope are impressive, and if this is be enough for you, software and hardware upgrades are available.

The RTC1000 combines features of multiple instruments. In addition to the oscilloscope, it includes logic, communication protocol and frequency spectrum analysers, as well as a digital voltmeter and a component tester.

Rohde & Schwarz RTB2000 (RTC2K) MSO oscilloscope: Basic parameters

  • Bandwidth: 70MHz, upgradable to 300MHz.
  • Sampling rate up to 2.5GSa/s. 10-bit resolution A/C converter.
  • Memory: 20MSa.
  • 10,1" 1280×800 px display with a capacitive touch panel.

The RTB2000 series oscilloscope integrates and harnesses the power of “tens”: 10-bit A/C converter, a memory that holds 10 million samples and a 10.1" touch panel display. This makes it a perfect tool for troubleshooting in embedded devices, university labs, manufacturing companies and maintenance departments.

The largest display in this instrument class makes it easy to operate the oscilloscope much like a smartphone. The user can quickly navigate through menu options, zoom in/out of the oscillogram, and pan the display. The 10-bit converter provides accurate representations of the observed waveform and its details.

10MSa memory is available for each channel. When interleaved, memory of 20 MSa is available. This extensive memory capacity allows the recording of longer signal sequences and more accurate analysis.

The RTB2000 is not just an oscilloscope. It includes a logic state analyser, communication protocol analyser, waveform generator and a digital voltmeter. Special modes are designed for frequency spectrum analysis, equipment testing, and large data logging.
