Automation

Automation – as seen from the general perspective – is a field of study and engineering which concentrates on controlling various technological processes. Its aim is to gather and process information about a system and perform appropriate actions based on certain specific operation algorithms. Automation can be divided into a number of subcategories that are compatible with the field of application, i.e. industrial, household, transport automation, etc. Industrial automation is closely connected with the so-called “fourth industrial revolution” or Industry 4.0 whose idea is based on the automatization of production, but also assumes the creation of networks of dynamic, self-organised and intercommunicating processes, where a human is only a supervisor.
