Due to the current expectations and regulations in the housing construction industry, systems of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery are widely applied, i.e. those that in a way recycle heat from the polluted air removed outside. Temperature in the building is increased e.g. with the use of boilers powered by eco-pea coal, wood pellet fuel or gas, or alternatively with heat pumps, which have been growing in popularity in recent years. When the temperature gets too high, air handling units are used.

Industrial facilities, in which production processes may raise the temperature too high for people to bear it, require similar control. Sensitive electronic devices also need strictly defined conditions including air temperature, pressure or humidity to be maintained in order to work properly. Even minor changes may influence the service life of the components or the accuracy of the device performance.

In order to operate correctly, all those systems require suitable measuring instruments, which report the necessity of outside intervention such as device maintenance or checking the actual operating parameters. The ability to work of the heating, ventilation or air-conditioning systems mentioned above is largely dependent on proper air flow. Its intensity determines the operating power of the system. The design of these sub-components includes two connection nozzles through which the gas flows. Two built-in sensors capture the temperature difference caused by different streams of the medium flowing through the nozzles.
