(30)SMD inductor is a passive inductor designed for SMT surface mounting. They are used, among others, in filter systems in audio devices. SMD chokes are characterized by compact design and low profile, so that their use does not require a much larger enclosure. They are used as interference suppressors in RF applications (remote control, WLAN modules, Bluetooth, cellular networks, GPS receivers), computers, audio/video devices, power supplies, converters and other electronic equipment. The basic parameter describing inductors is inductance, which in the case of SMD inductors ranges from nanohenries [nH] to millihenries [mH].
