LAPP network patch cords and industrial cables

Date of publication: 11-05-2026 🕒 6 min read

Pre-assembled, factory-finished cables have two huge advantages: they save installers time and guarantee the highest connection parameters. The latter feature is particularly important in the case of computer networks, where compliance with standards ensures fast and reliable data transmission.

In this article, we present a brief overview of the LAPP range in terms of cables and connectors for data transmission and other communication signals, e.g., from sensors.

The company LAPP specializes in professional solutions for the industry. The supplier's products meet international standards and can be used without any problems in offices, production plants, warehouses, as well as in automation and robotics installations. This article presents selected connectors and cables from the LAPP brand. To learn more details or find a specific solution, please visit the catalog at the link below.

LAPP Cables

In this article, we cover topics such as:

Ethernet Cables and Connectors

The LAPP brand's network cables include an exceptionally wide selection of patch cords, i.e., cables factory-equipped with connectors at both ends (in this case RJ45). This ensures that they provide optimal connection parameters in the specified Ethernet category – for the supplier's products, this is Cat 6a, which translates to transmission speeds up to 10Gbps. Such LAPP patch cords are available in many variants: lengths range from 0.25m to 50m, in colors red, blue, orange, green, yellow, as well as white, black, and gray. Most cables have insulation made of LSZH material, which produces minimal amounts of smoke free of halogens when in contact with flame.

Complementing the patch cord offering are IDC connectors, mounted on the cable without the use of specialized tools. They support connections in the 6a standard, are available in male and female versions (sockets), allowing the creation of reliable extensions. Elements can be mounted on cables with diameters from 4.5mm to 10mm, with conductors in both stranded and solid forms (cross-section according to AWG from 22 to 27). Connectors are available in 4- and 8-pin versions, straight and angled.

Fiber Optic Connections

An alternative to network electrical connections are fiber optics – and LAPP's offering also includes many attractive, ready-to-install solutions, such as patch cords and pigtails (cables with a factory-installed connector at one end). The products belong to fiber optic categories from OM1 to OM4, as well as OS2 (most commonly used in external networks). All these cables have a length of 2m. They support single-mode and multi-mode technology, as well as bidirectional transmission (duplex). Various plugs are installed at the ends, depending on the selected model: LC, SC, ST. Additionally, LAPP also offers a wide selection of fiber optic connectors, adapters, and couplers of various types (mainly installed on the cable).

Cables for Sensors

Discussing LAPP's range of connection solutions, it's hard to overlook the extensive offering of cabling and connectors designed for industry and automation. These cables are made with the intention of creating connections with sensors and are equipped with popular round connectors (mainly M8 and M12). Thanks to the factory assembly of connectors, the entire assembly maintains a sealing class of IP65/IP67, and in selected cases even IP69K (with thermal resistance depending on the model, but generally ranging from -25°C to 105°C). Cables are available in lengths from 0.3m to 15m. LAPP products are excellently suited for conducting analog and digital signals from sensors, as well as their power supply (maximum voltages up to 250V AC/DC, 4A).

Industrial connectors (round M8 and M12) from LAPP are also made in high protection classes, in straight and angled versions. The range includes male and female formats, having from 3 to 12 pins, mainly for mounting on the cable. The intended use of individual models includes power supply (up to 250V and 12A), as well as supporting popular communication methods: Ethernet, ProfiNET, CAN bus etc.
