Coil formers and accessories
(260)A coilformer is one of the components in a transformer, onto which its windings are wound. It's the body of an inductive coil, and it is made of materials with insulation properties – e.g. plastic (pressed products) or bakelized paper (folded products). An important advantage of the former is extended mechanical and electrical endurance. Furthermore, they can be equipped with pins for connecting the component with other parts of your application. The main goal of coilformers is separating individual windings from one another, as well as from the core. The shape and dimensions of the component are defined based on the parameters of the core used in a given application. Due to that, the most common coilformers are those with rectangular of round intersection, ending with a flange. Models with separate sections can easily be found as well.
